私たちの視点Our Perspective

留学生の「活躍・活用」に目を向けましたWe turned our eyes to the potential of international students

こうした疑問から、私たちは日本で学ぶ外国人留学生の「活躍・活用」に目を向けました。日本の大学を卒業する外国人留学生は毎年約3万人。しかし、6割の留学生が日本の企業で働くことを希望しながら、就職出来ているのはその半分に過ぎません。日本人以上に就活は難しく、入社後の活躍は更に困難を極めています。 These questions led us to focus on the success and potential of international students studying in Japan. About 30,000 international students graduate from Japanese universities every year. Six in ten hope to work at Japanese companies — yet only half of them succeed. Job hunting is harder for them than for Japanese students, and thriving after joining a company is harder still.

しかし、外国人留学生が世界にまれな日本の就活や長期雇用を前提とした人材育成等にうまく適応でき、又日本の組織もグローバル化に向けた多様な人材の受け入れ態勢が出来れば、共に大きな成長が図れます。そのために必要な、外国人留学生が日本の社会に対し「しっかりとした意志」を持つこと、受け入れる日本の社会が「生き生きと働く」環境を作ることのお手伝いを私たちはしてまいりたいと考えております。 But when international students adapt well to Japan's distinctive job-hunting system and long-term-employment culture, and when Japanese organizations build the capacity to welcome diverse talent, both sides grow enormously. Our mission is to help make that happen: helping students form a firm resolve toward Japanese society, and helping Japan create workplaces where they can work with energy and joy.
