I want to share two lessons I took from this course: thorough company research and proactive interview training. As you move through job hunting, entry sheets and interviews will always ask about your motivation. Without solid company research, you'll be screened out at that very stage. As students, most of us have never studied a company through the eyes of a working professional. In this course, the instructor teaches you how — from the company's perspective, using real corporate examples.

Japanese interviews are full of etiquette, and for those of us from abroad they can be extremely nerve-racking. But after practicing over and over with the instructor, both individual and group interviews started to feel natural — and confidence and smiles came with them. Practicing from the interviewer's point of view is especially eye-opening. I really encourage you to try it.

What this course gave me was direction and confidence. At first I agonized over whether to return home or work in Japan, and I felt lost about what job hunting here even required. The course taught me the how-to — but more than that, the instructor personally helped me work through my own worries. Having once been an international student herself, she truly understands our position and feelings. Whatever anxieties you carry, joining this course will help you find your direction sooner and reach success faster.

When job hunting began, my lack of self-analysis kept me constantly unsettled — and hearing classmates name the industries and jobs they wanted only made me more anxious. Not knowing where to start, I joined Zhang-sensei's course, and a path appeared. Starting with self-analysis, I identified what I could do and what felt meaningful to me, narrowed my industry focus, and moved forward.

The other big lesson was about being yourself. You are you — there's no need to compare yourself to others. What matters is moving forward positively, step by steady step, at your own pace. To everyone coming after me: use this place to truly face yourself.

From Thailand · Waseda University, Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems — graduated September 2013 · Auto-parts maker, quality assurance

My goal was to work in Japan after graduating, so at first I searched job sites on my own. Japanese job hunting really was hard. Beyond the language, I understood nothing about how it worked, and it went so badly I was ready to give up — until a senior at my university introduced me to Keisei. From there I learned so much: what kind of work suits me, how Japanese companies think, what interviewers are looking for, the key points of self-promotion. And whenever I got stuck mid-search, the instructor was always there with kind advice.

I also joined the pre-employment training, and even after starting work they listened to my worries and kept advising me. Thanks to that, I settled into my company smoothly. I'm truly grateful.

From Uzbekistan · Nagoya University, Graduate School of Law — graduated September 2013 · Auto-parts maker, legal affairs

The course contributed enormously to both my job hunt and my growth after joining. In short, it gave me three things: first, I understood why employment matters and committed to the hunt; second, I learned to prepare the necessary documents and handle interviews; third, by imagining myself three years ahead, I learned to set future goals and work toward them. In a word — this course was the school where I took my first steps as a working professional.

Wanting to work in Japan after graduation, I looked for career support as soon as I entered graduate school and found Keisei's Najimi Juku. Through about six months of training camps, an improvement project at my part-time job, and a final results presentation, I grew tremendously — and landed a job at a company considered hard to get into. Looking back, the biggest gain was the confidence I built by being trained and delivering real results. The instructors had hands-on corporate experience, and their way of thinking was eye-opening to me. To anyone hoping to work in Japan: I wholeheartedly recommend Najimi Juku.

The course gave me a much deeper understanding of what Japanese companies are looking for. I learned how to job hunt, business manners, and everything a working adult should know. For someone as anxious about Japanese society as I was, it was an enormous support. And it goes beyond job hunting — whenever I'm in trouble, the teachers kindly guide me, and I lean on them still. Good luck, everyone!

What helped me most was the high level of the one-on-one consultations. When I was job hunting I was 29, a humanities major with no work experience — a true 'job-hunting refugee.' After failure upon failure, I signed up for Keisei's individual consultation. Analyzing why I kept failing, they showed me my problem: I was looking only at myself and ignoring the companies. In the middle of all that anxiety and chaos, light finally appeared — and in the end I joined my ideal company. They helped me at my lowest point, and I'm grateful from the bottom of my heart.

From Indonesia · Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology College, Information Networks — graduated March 2012 · Machinery maker, electrical circuit design

I wanted to join a Japanese company and master the craft of electrical design. Job hunting in Japan was completely new to me, and I had no idea how to go about it. Then I learned of Keisei's course and received their support. Thanks to that, I was able to clearly convey my strengths and hopes in interviews. Today I'm doing exactly the electrical design work I hoped for, and every day is deeply fulfilling.
